How to Get Your Kitten Ready for Their First Vet Visit?

Vaccinations

The first vaccine for cats is usually given between the ages of 6 and 9 weeks. A healthy family pet with up-to-date vaccinations will provide the best start in life for her kittens. If your kitten is sneezing or has any other health issues, the vet will wait until it is healthy before vaccinating it.

Booster vaccines for kittens should be given every three weeks until they reach the age of 16 to 20 weeks. The rabies vaccine is usually given only once, at the time of the kitten’s final visit. At multiple appointments, your kitten will be given a dewormer to treat common kitten intestinal parasites like roundworms.
