Dry vs. Wet Cat Food
Fresh Cat Food
You’re probably familiar with canned wet food, but it’s also available in pouches. According to Purina Veterinary Nutritionist Dr. Dorothy Laflamme, both “come in small sizes, making it easy to provide a variety of different flavors, and for some, smaller sizes may make portion control easier.”
Wet cat food contains at least 65 percent moisture. As a result, according to Laflamme, “wet food should not be left out for more than 30 to 60 minutes at a time to prevent bacterial growth.”
However, wet cat food has numerous advantages, including:
• Cats adore textures and ingredients.
• Cats can chew on it more easily.
• Increased dietary variety
• aids in increasing total water intake.
